ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Media Statement on College Council’s Call for Israel Academic Boycott

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ President Strom C. Thacker rejected a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Council recommendation calling for an academic boycott of all Israeli academic institutions.

April 11, 2024 — On April 11, 2024, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ President Strom C. Thacker rejected a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Council recommendation calling for an academic boycott of all Israeli academic institutions. President Thacker views the recommendation as antithetical to ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s commitment to academic freedom, to the creation of a safe and productive learning environment for all, and to the College’s core value of intercultural understanding.
